Snow Info

Snow removal this year will again be handled by the same contractor as last year, Boswell Lawn Service. Updates will be posted here and also on our Facebook Group (Saline Northview Condominium Association). Please send snow removal questions to [email protected] Please keep your driveways clear of vehicles if you would like them cleared. This is due to the risk of damage to vehicles from the snow equipment. Please also mark the corners of your driveways and along the sidewalk so that turf damage can be minimized. The snow contract provides that the contractor is not responsible for damage caused by unmarked driveways and sidewalks. Snow is cleared from sidewalks when the depth is 1 inch or more and from driveways when the depth is 2 inches or more. As we are a large neighborhood, clearing all driveways does take some time so please be patient. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to us via an email to the board (as listed above).

Annual meeting: October 12, 2021 at 7:00 pm

On September 20th we mailed to all homeowners the notice of our annual meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, Oct 12 at 7:00 pm, via Zoom (check-in will begin at 6:30 pm). The mailing will have in it the notice, the meeting agenda, and a pre-stamped proxy card. As many of you know, to meet the quorum requirement for the meeting, we need at least 30% of all units represented either at the meeting or by proxy (or both, combined). With 252 units in the sub, that means we need at least 76 people and/or proxies at the time of the meeting in order to hold the meeting. Whether or not you plan to attend, please sign and return the proxy card right away. If you don’t receive the letter, please let us know here or by email ([email protected]). On the agenda will be discussions about amendments to the Bylaws, as well as the 2021 budget. We will also have an open discussion so that folks can bring up whatever other issues they’d like to raise. Thank you!

Landscaping work at the main entrance

Over the weekend of May 15-16 you might have noticed a bunch of people working hard at the Ann Arbor/Woodland entrance to the sub. The volunteer crew included Susan Miklovich, Kirsten Eye, Patty Palombit, Mary Rentschler and Scott Rentschler. They did a lot of work, including moving some plantings, removing others, putting in new plantings (they looked at drought- and deer-resistant plants), and other things. They are also going to add mulch to the area over the new few weeks, but are timing that to help minimize the risk of losing new plantings. If you see them out and about, please thank them for their great ideas and hard work.

We are also going to look at what we can do about the deteriorating condition of the wooden sign at that entrance. We might be able to get away with some light touch-ups (paint) to it and put off replacing it until 2022, but we will begin looking around at options.

Arbor Day Event at Colony Park – Update!

Update: The Arbor Day event and tree planting that was to take place on April 30th will be postponed to Fall 2021due to the Cicadas event that will take place this year in May and June. These Brood X cicadas can be very damaging to young trees so with that in mind the event will move to the Fall.

Mark the date – April 30th at 1pm. The City of Saline will be having their annual Arbor Day event at our neighborhood Colony Park. There will be a tree planting ceremony with more details to come.

Snow Update

I apologize for the delay in getting things cleared this morning. The crew is here now and will get things cleaned up. We’ll be discussing the timing of events with the snow contractor in the next couple days. We needed to have them clearing first thing this morning.

Regards, Scott Rentschler
