12.15.16 Snow Update
We have obtained a second contractor to improve service for our community, starting immediately. We also have contractors coming today to clear the sidewalks again. We are working hard to improve the snow service moving forward.
12.12.16 Snow Removal Update 1.22PM
Crews are on the job and have approximately 40-45% of the neighborhood cleared.
Snow Removal Update
First of all – sorry for the inconvenience with snow removal services.
We have one contractor doing all three zones this year. We had difficulty in securing our previous contractors for work this year which influenced the decision we made (That and other contractors we contacted were too expensive or didn’t want the job.).
That being said, our contractor had a truck break down last night, but he has three trucks en route at 945am to finish the job. He was able to do the sidewalks yesterday as you saw. Some things (like broken trucks) are out of our control unfortunately.
We certainly realize that the snow removal was not perfect for the first storm of the year, but considering schools are closed across washtenaw county, the difficulties we are experiencing are certainly not unique to our community. Subsequent service should be better optimized as we have more time to prepare and have more experience as a board.

Northview Board

Snow Event – 12/11/2016
We are expecting a snow event today with some meteorologists prognosticating up to 9 inches of snow (but who really knows). We have snow service coverage for the Northview community covered for this event and wanted to share the information about the service as part of our ongoing effort towards increased transparency and communication.
We have one vendor handling all three zones with several dedicated trucks and dedicated employees.
The trigger moment for the service to come to our community is two inches of snowfall. The arrival of the service is automatic, no calls needed. If an event has more than two inches, the service is executed when the remaining snowfall that has not yet come down is under two inches. For example, if we are expecting five inches of snowfall, the trucks start running at three inches, leaving less than two inches behind should the snow continue to fall. The rationale for this is that the snow and ice melt will take care of ongoing snowfall as it falls.
Having trucks run all day and bill for a push for every two inches of snow proves to be cost prohibitive and inefficient. (For example – a 6 inch snow event would potentially have 3 pushes at X dollar value per push – a significant cost)
The newly elected board is working hard to serve the association as best we can and hope that regular updates like these help us work together for a productive and harmonious community.

Annual Mailing By-Law Change Ballots – Withdrawn
Attention to those not present at October’s annual meeting or those that may have left early.
The By-Law change ballots that were sent out in the annual mailing were voted to be withdrawn. There is no need to send in the completed ballots and they can be discarded.

October Annual Meeting – October 25th
This year’s annual meeting will be held on October 25th at Heritage Elementary school cafeteria. Doors will open at 6:30 pm for signing in. Meeting will be called to order at 7pm. Please keep a look out in the mail for a post card with more information.
Board Meeting – September 21, 2016
The board’s next scheduled meeting will be on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 6:30 PM at the Saline District Library. Co-owners having business to bring before the board are advised to contact a board member in advance to add an item to the agenda.
