The three new mailbox units were installed yesterday (1262 Woodland Ct, 355 Berkshire Dr and 587 Berkshire Dr). Board member Steve Beyer was out there helping coordinate things with the locksmith and the USPS, and reports that the USPS has not secured the mailboxes yet, but plans on doing that today, August 3rd (hopefully in the morning morning), and will re-deliver any mail that was in the old clusters when they were replaced.
Both Scott Rentschler (who helped get the new mailboxes from our storage unit to their installation locations) and Todd Lands (who helped Steve with some keys/locks issues) pitched in, too. The process is not quite done yet, but Steve will stay on top of it until it is. Thanks for your patience, and please email us ([email protected]) if you have any problems.
We will include this info in the annual newsletter, but it’s worth posting here, too. The installation instructions with the new mailboxes advise that “If a mailbox lock in outdoor equipment becomes clogged with ice due to extreme winter weather conditions, use Tri-Flow Superior Lubricant Aerosol. Spray Tri-Flow directly into the keyhole and onto the key. Slide the key in and out of the lock several times to spread the lubricant. Do not apply too much product, as a small amount is sufficient. Wipe off any excess lubricant from the lock and key.”
